“My mission is to show that the biodiversity in the Amazon is far beyond jaguars and anacondas - there’s a whole untapped universe to explore, from stingless bees, pink dolphins, bioluminescent fungi, to extreme microbes. With science and art, I hope to invite others to fall in love with our Amazonia and our natural world.”

My grandmother in Peru taught me that everything in our planet is alive
and has a spirit. Physics taught me that everything is made up of atoms and particles, from rivers, rocks, plants to humans. Two ways of seeing the world around us, each fascinating and complex on its own rights. I constantly get asked which one is better: traditional knowledge or modern science? I think that's the wrong question to ask. Instead, why not exploring how both knowledge systems, when working together, get us closer to new discoveries, understanding, innovations... and even a renewed sense of wonder and hope? |
